The Octopus

There are thousands of strange creatures in our oceans. Among them, is the octopus which is scientifically known as Vulgaris. They are strange looking creatures with their large eyes on their rounded head. Their body covering is a mantle which most cephalopods have. However, the strangest part of an octopus is probably its eight arms that stick out of its head, covered in suckers. If their looks aren't strange enough for you, then your in the right place. Prepare to learn the ways of an octopus.

Description

Octopus can be anywhere from less then an inch to about 20 feet. Their weight can be less than an ounce to over 110 pounds. However all octopus are apart of the family Octopodidae which is part of the order Octopoda. The order Octopoda is part of the class Cephalopoda and the class Cephalopoda is part of the phylum Mollusca. The phylum Mollusca is obviously part of the kingdom Animalia. Octopus have bilateral symmetry and are considered incredibly intelligent. They are so intelligent that they can learn how to open jars, solve mazes, and much more. Some people might even consider them the smartest cephalopods.
